Yes To Coconut; Shampoo and Conditioner Review

I have seen the Yes To ranges EVERYWHERE! And everyone seems to love them, but I just couldn’t bring myself to try them. I’ve always been a £1 each shampoo and conditioner kinda gal, and paying £6 each seemed pretty steep! But, when the student loan dropped (big up SFE), I decided to see what all of the fuss was about. Plus, I needed something to boost up my Beauty Bay order for free delivery, so there we go.
Anyway, as always, this post will be split into little sections. I’m gonna review both the shampoo and the conditioner together as they are pretty similar, so let’s go.
First Impressions
On first inspection, I noticed that both of these products smell AMAZING. Like, I have tried various coconut scented products (it’s my fav scent), but these are definitely the closest to a real coconut that I have ever smelt! Formulated with virgin coconut oil and 98% natural, these really do smell incredible.
Plus, Yes To are well ahead of most companies as their products are paraben free- amazing! And, of course, they are completely cruelty free and leaping bunny certified, making them pretty intriguing indeed!
First Wash
I gotta be honest, this really was love-at-first-wash.
A little goes a long way with both of these products, and my hair felt much more moisturised from the very first application! Being ‘ultra moisture’, I guess I should have expected this, but I have tried many shampoos and conditioners claiming to do similar and they have fallen flat; so I was definitely impressed by this one!
Plus, it makes my hair literally smell del-ic-ious. And the scent hangs around too, meaning that your hair smells good for longer.
A Few Weeks Later
So, as you cannot really know the true benefits/drawbacks of haircare unless you have been using it for a few weeks, I have been trialling this for almost 4 weeks now.
I use a combination of the products, so I begin with applying the shampoo, massaging into the scalp, and rinsing. I then apply the conditioner from the ends upwards, leave for 5 minutes, and then rinse out.
On the back of these products, it says to ‘think about your next vacation as you massage through hair, then rinse’ (so basically massage for a little while). Something that I have really noticed with these products is that, the longer you spend really working the product into the scalp and hair, the better moisturised your hair feels! Plus, it’s a good cheeky-little arm workout while you’re at it!
Overall Review
Overall, I am really impressed with both the Yes To Coconut Shampoo and Conditioner! If I’m being 100% honest, I do prefer the shampoo slightly more than the conditioner as I feel like it does a lot more than other products that I’ve tried (and I also tried these products separately to see how they faired!). But, a combination of both of these products is helping my hair to become much more moisturised and healthy; which is great after years of damage!
As I said at the beginning of the post, this is the most I have EVER paid for shampoo and conditioner because I’m a skint student and all that jazz. However, I can definitely see why it’s worth it! Plus, I have been using both of these products for over 4 weeks and both bottles are definitely more than half-full, which is not bad value at all!
Like I said, a little of this product goes a long way. I’ve been using about a two-pence piece sized amount and I’ve found that to be more than enough.
In fact, I did not really realise how much of a difference these products were making to my hair until I went home this weekend and forgot to take them! I had to use my old £1 each jobbies and, honestly, my hair has really punished me for it! It’s been dry at the ends and greasy at the roots since, and I cannot wait to get back home and be reunited with my hair saviours!
I am definitely impressed, and now I’m eyeing up lots of other products in the Yes To Coconut range because imagine if everything is this good!
