So, I recently had a blog brainstorming afternoon with my lovely friend Abbey where we took a few photos in a local, public place (check out her blog, it’s great!). During this, we had a little bit of a weird experience, and Abbey came up with the idea of this post for me, because I have definitely had quite a few weird experiences whilst taking blog photos! So, without furtherado, here are the funniest experiences that I’ve had whilst taking photos in public places!
“Do you want a photo of both of you?”
This is a question that I DREAD when I’m out and about taking pictures! Thank you kind stranger for the offer, but I can hardly reply to your offer with “nah thanks, I just want pics of myself”.

The lady who tried to steal our pumpkin
Pumpkin picking pics litter our insta feeds during October, and mine was no different! Zack and I took a little trip to a near by pumpkin-picking field and poor Zack spent a really long time arranging them into a perfect heart for the gram. You should’ve heard him wail ‘NOOOOO’ when a lady tried to steal one, it was SO funny.

“Ooh what camera do you have? I have *insert name of camera*. Mine’s better. Mine does this, this and this. Mine has won me a prize. Mine has flown me to space. Can your camera do that?”
Omg, this is my pet hate. I take photos for my blog, and Zack enjoys taking photos; it’s a hobby. BUT so many strangers who are ‘camera pros’ see us with a camera and feel the need to comment telling us what we’re doing right/wrong. And once we got stuck with someone for about an hour (not even exaggerating) and he just wouldn’t stop chatting about camera stuff that we had no idea about. It wasn’t fun.

Ok, I’m doing my best to look candid and hide my double chin and not freeze my tits off in January with my coat hanging off of my shoulders and I’m doing it all for the gram, so if you could stop shouting “SMILE” as you walk past me, that would be great.

The people that won’t stop staring
Okay, I get that it’s not every day that you see some gal taking pictures of their blogger pal through a coffee shop window BUT do you really have to give us such a disapproving stare? Or, worse, look at me like I’m a stalker! I know my friend is trying to be candid by not looking at the camera, but I have her permission to take the pics, I promise.

Whilst in Crete, we decided to get a lovely shot in front of the sea on the pier. However, we didn’t realise that we had entered a splash zone until after we had. The waves were getting higher and drenching everyone and we had to make a very swift and very careful exit. Luckily the camera survived! 😂

“Do you know that flower you’re kissing is poisonous?”
Yup, a concerned elderly man (bless him) actually informed me after this photo was taken. Luckily, I’m still alive, but I am very grateful that he informed me!

“What is it that you’re doing?”
Ok, I had to leave this one for last because it makes me laugh SO MUCH that I actually wouldn’t have been able to make it through this post if I’d have written it first.
Okay, so there’s a story.
I live directly across from a wood (or my mum does anyway) so when we are home, me and Zack often use this little wood for some quick outfit pics on days when we cannot really be bothered to/ don’t have the time to travel. So we’ve done a few little shoots there and the photos have been really nice. It comes to near Christmas time, and my nan says that all she really wants is a photo of all four of her grandchildren. So, we decide to make it happen and head to the wood as we like the location and it’s literally just across the road. Anyway, after Zack has taken some beautiful photos (included below), we head home. As we exit the wood, we are greeted by our neighbour looking very concerned. My mum then had to spend a little while explaining to her that we were taking pictures in the scrubby wood across from my house (which Zack managed to make look magical!) and not, in fact, holding a burial for our rabbit.

I also asked around on twitter and found that some of you had had similar experiences, so here are a few of the ones that made me giggle!
A Cute Old Lady! 💖

I think she just wanted to be a part of the shoot! 🤔😂

Just a little bit awkward! 😬😬

Nooooo, not the coffee art!

Oh, hi officer! We’re just taking pictures for instagram, nothing criminal, promise 🤷

My absolute worst nightmare 😩

Gigi (teawithgi) also shared the photos of this incident with us, bless her 😂
The starers are gonna stare 😩

A little bit strange 🙄

Do you have a funny photo-shoot experience to share? Leave it in the comments, I’d love to hear it!
Thanks for reading!
